Matt Damon In Awe of Angelina Jolie

Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie stared together in "The Good Shepard", a movie about the birth of the CIA, and Matt cannot speak highly enough of Angelina and her acting skills. He also talks about the constant presence of the paparazzi where ever Angelina went during the filming of the movie.
"There was just that whole thing that would occur when she would come to work, which was, you know, suddenly 50 photographers would be standing where we were shooting and there were swarms of people around and all this interest,'' co-star Matt Damon said. "But as much craziness as surrounds her and surrounds Brad (Pitt) and their life, she was there to absolutely focus on work. "If you'd walked in and asked: 'Which one of these people is surrounded by photographers everywhere they go?' you would never point to her - except for the fact she's so beautiful.'' Damon, the star of the movie franchise spun off from Robert Ludlum's Bourne series of novels, and an Academy Award-winning writer for Good Will Hunting is obviously in awe of Jolie's ability to shake off the constant attention directed at her and concentrate on her day job - acting. "Once we'd get inside the armoury and it was quiet and we were just doing our work, I realised why she's Angelina Jolie,'' Damon said. "It's like there's this whole celebrity side of her, this whole kind of image that other people have created, and then there's who she really is. And first and foremost she's an incredible actor."
As we as we mentioned yesterday Brad Pitt has been having a difficult time with the paparazzi this week, and Angelina has totally been out of the public eye since her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died last weekend. On one hand I think that these actors who court the media in the early days of their career and then resent them when they make it big, don't really have a leg to stand on, but where do we draw the line? Shouldn't Angelina Jolie be able to make funeral arrangements and whatever else she needs to do, without being hounded by photographers? It's a difficult question and one there is no answer to, especially when secretly we all really want to know what's going on in their private lives.

Angelina Jolie Wants to Play Frantic Mother

Angelina Jolie wants the lead role and the movie rights to the story of Melissa Hawach, the Canadian mother who employed a five man team of mercenaries from Australia and New Zealand to steal her kids back from her ex- husband after he abducted them and took them to Lebanon. Hawach's ex-husband Joseph is Lebanese-Australian.

Hawach had not seen her daughters Hannah 5, and Cedar, 3, for six months since they had been abducted.

Five major studios have already bid for the rights to the story and Angelina Jolie wants to play Hawach . Jolie's reps have called Hawach's agents to express an interest.

I can totally see Angelina in this role - it would be perfect for her! And it a great story of hope and a mothers love, and you can't make this stuff up. Real life is often so much more interesting than fiction!!

Marcheline Bertrand, Mother of Angelina Jolie, Died Today.

Marcheline Bertrand, mother of Angelina Jolie, died of cancer today. Angelina Jolie, brother James Haven and Brad Pitt were at her bedside. FOX has the full story.

A private funeral is planned and in lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Women's Cancer Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Zahara & Shiloh Jolie-Pitt!

Look how cute Zahara and Shiloh are! The Sun has the pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie taking the kids out for a stroll in New Orleans - 5-year-old Maddox was behind them so you can't see him in this shot. How adorable are they!?

"Brad Pitt looks every inch the doting dad as he wheels two of his children in a buggy. Partner Angelina Jolie has her hands full too with two cups of coffee — while adopted daughter Zahara munches away on chips. Film hunk Brad, 43, pushed Zahara, two, and nine-month-old baby Shiloh during a family stroll near their $2million home in New Orleans. Dressed all in black, Fight Club star Brad looked typically trim. Angelina, 31, is still coming to terms with the cancer death of her mom three weeks ago, but put on a brave face."

Once Again PEOPLE Get Exclusive Jolie-Pitt Photos

I just found out that People Magazine have once again bought the exclusive rights to pictures of Angelina Jolie and Pax Jolie-Pitt. Apparently, People Mag are going to have the rights to all pictures of Pax Jolie-Pitt and anyone who happens to be standing in the vicinity, including Brad Pitt and all the brothers and sisters.

I can only assume that Angelina is going to give all the money to charities like she did with the Shiloh pics. Pax couldn't possibly be fetching the same rumored $4 million that Shiloh got, because he's not the biological child of the "most beautiful woman in the world" and Brad Pitt.

So my question is this: what if you are walking down the street, Joe Ordinary, and see the Jolie-Pitt's and take a snap with your camera phone? Do People Magazine thugs jump out from behind a bush , grab your phone and smash it into a thousand pieces?

Angelina & James to Share Insurance Money

The will of Marcheline Bertrand, mother to Angelina Jolie and James Haven, has been made public. Angelina and her brother are to split the $1.2 million life insurance policy. In an attachment that she wrote in her own handwriting, Marcheline says that her ex-husband, Jon Voight, still owes her $180,000 in spousal support. She also left $100,000 each to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's children, Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh.

Angelina's Mom Liked Brad.

Photo: Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand 1976
Angelina Jolie's mother Marcheline Bertrand passed away on Saturday after a long struggle with cancer.

US Weekly Magazine is reporting that Marcheline felt that Angelina was finally in a stable relationship with Brad Pitt, which made her very happy.

That afternoon, Jolie, 31, and Pitt, 43, arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to be with Bertrand, 56, during her last hours. “Everybody cried,” says a Jolie friend. “Marcheline told Angelina and Brad that she loved them. It was incredibly emotional.” Bertrand herself had grown quite fond of Pitt – especially after seeing her daughter date (and, in two cases, marry) the wrong men.“Marcheline approved of their relationship completely,” says a source. “And Brad loved her.”

Angelina Welcomes a Boy!

Angelina Jolie is due to arrive in Vietnam tonight and then participate in an adoption ceremony tomorrow morning. It is being reported that Angelina is adopting a 3 yr old boy. Angelina will then have to meet with US Consular officials so a passport can be issued for the child.(source)

Angelina filed papers earlier this month in her name only, as she and Brad Pitt aren't married. (So what I ask? Why can't they still file together?)

This is lovely news for the Jolie-Pitts. I sure the little boy is cute as a button. My only question is, how can she adopt a child so quickly? That is really fast, to get a child in less than a month. Doesn't it usually take at least a year to get all the paperwork sorted out on both ends? I did read somewhere that there are rumours of a $1.9 million donation to the orphanage in Vietnam, but that could be totally made up.

Pax Got a New Name

Angelina Jolie filed a petition to change the last name of Pax from Pax Thien Jolie to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt. The papers, obtained by TMZ (who else?) are requesting the changes to reflect the last name of her partner, Brad Pitt, and so that it is the same as her other children. I'm not sure why she didn't put Jolie-Pitt on the original papers when she adopted Pax in March but I guess this puts a stop to the latest rumors following the Jolie-Pitts, that they are breaking up.

And Now There Are Six

It's official, Angelina Jolie is adopting from Vietnam! There has been a bit of confusion recently as to whether or not the adoption was really happening. All the reports are saying that Angelina has filed paperwork - no mention of Brad Pitt's name being on the papers.

According to the Associated Press, the director of Vietnam's International Adoption Agency said an American adoption agency representing Jolie had
submitted the paperwork.

"She just filed the papers this week," Vu Duc Long said.

The new addition will join Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. We wish them well!

Angie Wants More Orphan Money

Angelina Jolie has graced Washington with her presence yet again, this time at a news conference launching Global Action for Children, asking the Government for more funding for the worlds orphans. Jolie tried to keep a low profile the whole time but it didn't really work, as she attracted over fifty photographers, monitoring her every movement.

Jolie was the last speaker and said "I am no policy expert, as you all know, and I'm not going to speak as one," she said. "I am asking you to think of orphan children not as a burden . . . but as investing in a future. . . . Orphaned children are the world's children."

When asked if she would run for office, Angelina laughed and said "I don't think anybody here wants that." Except every camera man, journalist, and media executive in the free world.

In an ironic twist, Angelina dragged Shiloh with her to Washington, her only non-adopted child. Shiloh was no where to be seen during the proceedings.

In other matters Brangelina, I saw this great story on CNN this morning. Some 80 yr old man in Massachusetts has his phone number listed on a chat board as Brad Pitts phone number. He received thousands of calls, which he answered. The old guy seemed very good natured about the whole thing and when pressed said that he would have chosen Jennifer Aniston as his wife. Good on him!!

Angelina Jolie Was an Early Bloomer

Angelina Jolie was just the kind of girl you would keep you little boy away from when she was in kindergarten. She says that she was "very sexual" and would play a game that involved cornering the boys and taking off their clothes! She referred to herself as a "wild child" and says that she was often in trouble for it.

"I was a member of a group called the Kissy Girls. I was very sexual in kindergarten. I created a game where I would kiss the boys and give them cooties. Then we would make out and we would take our clothes off. I got in a lot of trouble."
Believe it? I'm not sure. Only because I'm pretty sure a 5 year old in kindergarten wouldn't know what 'making out' even is! On the other hand, we have seen her lay some pretty heavy kisses on her own brother, so anything is possible!

Brangelina Adopting Again?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have filed papers to adopt another child from Vietnam, to join Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh in the Pitt-Jolie clan.

A source in Vietnam tells US Weekly the couple have filed papers with the U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration services to adopt a boy from the Tam Binh orphanage
in Ho Chi Minh City, which they visited in November.

Jolie said
recently, "If we're going to have 10 kids, we'd like to raise them while we're
young."

I hope this is true. Four kids would be great. No one will have middle child syndrome. And it's not like Brad and Angelina don't have the resources to look after as many children as they want.

UPDATE: Apparently this is not true and they are not adopting from this orphanage

American Royalty Makes New Orleans Home!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are settling down in New Orleans! Pitt has joined forces with Global Green USA in an effort to rebuild parts of the city with echo-friendly housing. In addition, his newest film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" has been on location there since November.
Real Estate records show that Brangelina purchased an 1830s mansion in the French Quarter for $3.5 million in cash (which is exactly how I like to spend my millions) on January 2nd.
"We love it there," Jolie said at the Golden Globe's Monday. "The kids are going to go to school there. We're really looking forward to it."
But here is where the story gets interesting for me: A Jolie source tells US Magazine :
"She's interested in befriending normal moms so she can do things with the kids."

Ok. Seriously? I would give my right arm to be at that play date, being the "normal mom" that I am and all. I wonder what she'll wear? Will she have that look on her face that she did at the Golden Globes? What "normal" things will she talk about? I'll help you out Angelina. Bring coffee. Preferably a venti cappuccino. And chocolate. Like cupcakes! And to to carry your cupcakes in, you have to have the latest and greatest cupcake holder! You will be the Bree Van De Kamp of the French Quarter in no time!

Fascinating Angelina

Angelina Jolie has recently returned from Chad, one of her many visits to Africa as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. Angelina gave a fascinating interview to Newsweek, in which she describes the state of the refugee camps and how difficult it is for the aid workers just to be able to provide the daily basics for the refugees. Angelina also talks about living in New Orleans, and how much she and Brad like it there and one of her projects will be helping with education programs.

You're living in New Orleans right now. Is that just because you like the city or because you wanted to bring attention to New Orleans, too?
A bit of both. Brad was doing a film here and so we were going spend a month here. [We] realized it was a place we liked, we liked the people, I liked the school for
the kids. They're very diverse. I liked the other parents. I feel very comfortable with them. We're happy having our children here. Brad is working on rebuilding here.... But for me, just as a mom, I love the other parents and the kids and the schools. I'm starting to work on the education here and the school system here. There's a lot of work to be done.

You have to hand it to Angelina. I think it's fantastic that she actually has interests other than nightclubs and Jimmy Choo's and tries to use her celebrity to help other people. Something Paris should consider instead of being an empty waste of space.

What Do Angelina, Condi Rice and Alan Greenspan Have in Common?

Angelina Jolie has been nominated and is "under consideration" for a position on the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations, a New York thinktank. The Board will meet in June to vote on the application. I'm sure it's a done deal for Angelina, as merely showing up for a meeting will ensure tons of publicity for the Council. Other members of the thinktank are Bill Clinton, Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, Madeline Allbright, Henry Kissinger, Alan Greenspan, Barbara Walters and Lisa Ling. There's a mixed crowd for you.

People care so much about what Angelina has to say about foreign relations that she has an editorial on Darfur published in the Washington Post today.

Congratulations Angelina. Pax Thien Jolie has officially joined Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh in the Jolie-Pitt clan. Pax is three years old and has grown up in the Tam Binh orphanage in Vietnam. (pic is Angelina and Maddox arriving last night)

Angelina will not be able to bring Pax back to the US until next week, when his passport will be ready.

Hope Pax likes his new room in the mansion in New Orleans!!

So Much for Being a Stay at Home Mom....

Angelina Jolie spent the weekend apologizing for subjecting her new son Pax to the media spotlight and upsetting him and also telling anyone who'd listen how she's going to be a stay at home Mom and make sure her new family member adjusts seamlessly into the Jolie-Pitt household.(People)

Imagine my surprise when Variety is reporting that Angelina is signed up to start working on "Wanted" with Morgan Freeman - in May!! Two months from now. And it's not even being filmed in the US - it's shooting in Eastern Europe.

Pax is going to have to adjust to his new mother really quickly. Or maybe he can just cut out the middle man and adjust to his nanny.

In other much more exciting news,Variety is reporting that Brad Pitt is going to star in a US version of the fantastic British mini-series State of Play. I loved that show. It's usually difficult to improve on British TV, so I hope they do it justice.

Brangelina To Move To Berlin?

Brandenburg Gate - Berlin

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have bought a 6,500 sq ft attic apartment in Berlin. Angelina and Brad have both said they would like to raise their children outside of Hollywood. The Jolie-Pitt's recently moved to New Orleans, where Pitt is filming "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".

Is this the sign that they are planning to leave Hollywood behind for a life away from the spotlight? If this is the case they are kidding themselves. Photographers will be everywhere they go, especially if they are perceived to be fleeing the ever present paparazzi in the US. They have photographers in Germany too, you know.

Angelina: Orphan Expert

Angelina Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, has only been dead for two months, but already Angie and her brother James Haven are orphan experts. James has said that even though their father, Jon Voight, is still alive, they consider themselves orphans since their mothers death.

"There were times when our father was awesome, but my biggest memory is that he would look more at our faults than to our strengths, and that's what was so hard. Now that our mother has died, we're two orphans, Angie and I, so she has a deep understanding of the orphans she adopts."
HA! What? Let me get this straight: Jolie is worth more money than I can count, has at least 2 homes, body guards, personal trainers, cooks, maids, fabulous clothes and had a mother up until 2 months ago and the 'orphans' she has adopted have....um....nothing. Yup. Ok, got it. They are the same!
