Cover Your Ears

Jo De La Rosa one of the stars of Real Housewives of Orange County, as actually managed to snag a recording deal, and is currently in the studio recording her debut album "Just Jo".

After seeing De La Rosa record her demo for “Falling” on Real Housewives, immergent President John Trickett and Senior VP of Business Affairs and A&R David Helfant quickly contacted the singer/songwriter and offered her a record deal. David remarks, “When I first saw Jo sing on the show, I was immediately taken by her charisma, talent and vocal ability. She is a triple threat – Jo has a great voice, she is an amazing dancer and writes hit songs. Given Jo’s tremendous international fan base from the show, I knew we could make a great record with broad-reaching commercial appeal.” Within days, she was in immergent’s state-of-the-art in-house recording studio and a new remix of the television version of “Falling” was immediately sent to digital retailers.

Pul-heez! Sorry everyone, but Jo Just can't sing. We were treated to her yowling her single on one of the recent episodes of Real Housewives and it was just sad.

Jo needs a dose of reality from Simon Cowell.

The Real Housewives of Orange County-Reunion

I just watched the reunion show for Season 2 of Real Housewives of Orange County. Nothing new was revealed, things are pretty much the same as they were at the end of last week. Vicki says she's "in control" not a control freak and Lauri and Tammy learned a lot about their parenting skills and have tried to toughen up.

There have been a couple of questions that everyone has been asking about the show.

The first is about the OC Energy Drink Aqua Angels. Click here for their website.

The other question has been about the clothes worn by the ladies in the show. Here are some websites that sell the Sky brand of clothes, which is favoured by the lovely ladies of Coto!!

Urban Mix
Tabloid Style
Glam Girl Boutique
Rock Rebel
The Hip Chick

Real Housewives of Orange County - Slade and Jo Break Up!!

Slade and Jo broke up!! Never saw it coming - hahahah. Slade and Jo went to a relationship counsellor and Slade said Jo had to be free, broke up with her right there and then. Jo couldn't believe that he broke up with her "on a couch". Four days later Vicki had a party at her house, Jo came alone, Slade brought a date who was wearing a pair of hot pants and a quilted vest. She probably had Uggs on as well, but I didn't get a good look at her feet. She definitely had the 'rent-a-date' vibe. Jo was visibly shaken, and cried on Shane's shoulder.

Vicki is still a control freak, although she did let her husband organize a trip to Catalina for the day and didn't complain once. She couldn't stop her self from bossing the Chef at her party. He had to tell her to shut up.

Jeanna admits treating her husband Matt, like the mailman. That could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you feel about your mailman.

Lauri gave her 9 yr old daughter a cell phone and a pony for her birthday. George showed up with his hair freshly Flowbeed and gave Lauri a 5.25 carat engagement ring.

Tammy didn't do anything much, except date some nameless guy.

This was the last episode for Season 2!!! I'm sure we'll be treated to Season 3 soon enough - maybe for Lauri and George's wedding?

This is where things stand right now:

Jo still doesn't have a recording contract (WHAT?) and Slade is her manager.
Lauri is still engaged
Jeanna is still with Matt
Vicki is still a control freak
Tammy is still boring.

There hasn't been any word from Bravo on whether there will be a Season 3 of "Real Housewives." A press release, however, announced an extra episode of Season 2, set to air March 20, "due to overwhelming drama."

Real Housewives of Orange County - No One Is Happy

What a downer it was this week on Real Housewives. Everyone is sad. Jo doesn't know it yet, but she's going to be very sad when she gets her credit card bill and Slade doesn't pay for it, after she just charged everything for the new apartment and then went out and bought a $1500 pair of boots. Jo is also going to be sad when she finds out she can't sing. She met with some "executives" in the music industry and one guy was trying not to crack up laughing when he heard her song. I'm sure of it.

Vicki is sad because she flew all the way to Colorado to surprise her son Michael, and he wasn't pleased at all that she just dropped in on him. Vicki doesn't get it at all, that Michael doesn't want her controlling his life. He could have been nicer to her . After all, she is his mother. Vicki managed to cheer herself up by drinking straight out of the keg. Nice.

Jeanna is sad because she and her husband don't get on. He didn't come to her birthday lunch. Boo Hoo. Jeanna brightened herself up by going on Playboy Radio and announcing that she and her husband have separate bedrooms.

Lauri is sad because Ashely won't enroll in school and thinks that being an Aqua Angel and promoting a new brand of water "all over the world" is her new career. No sign of George this week or the jewelry business. Lauri was also sporting a nice new set of duck lips which made her look really weird.

Tammy is sad because Duff wouldn't marry her and now he wants to marry her and she doesn't want to marry him. Tammy doesn't know what she wants.
Sometimes life inside the gates isn't that much fun.

Real Housewives of Orange County -Nothing Happens

Last night on Real Housewives of Orange County nothing happened. Nothing of significance anyway. Rich George didn't even bother showing up, except on a phone call with Lauri, telling her to be a mother, not a friend to her eldest child, Ashley. Dear sweet Ashley, who has totally trashed Lauri's townhouse, let the cats poop all over the place and didn't take out the garbage for 2 months. Lauri didn't even throw a fit - she calmly said we'll talk about this on the weekend. I would have made that spoilt brat clean it up while I watched and then sold that townhouse out from under her and made her get a job!! Lauri is weak, weak, weak when it comes to her kids.
Jeanna got a dog trainer to come to the house and her husband, Matt, appeared out of the woodwork and told the dog trainer that Jeanna's friends killed his dogs. Then Jeanna and Matt told the cameras that they basically hated each other but didn't want to do anything about it. Sad.
Vicki got her astrological chart done and found out that she's a control freak and a workaholic because three planets were in line when she was born. Now she's happy because her behaviour is now out of her hands. It's all in the stars.
Jo still can't sing. Jo moved into her own apartment, which Slade turned his nose up at, but it looked fine to me. I think Jo and Slade are over.
Tammy went on a blind date with a guy with a cat's bum face. It didn't go well. Tammy and Duff went to the store together with their 4 yr old brat.
Basically nothing happened this week, but next week looks good. Girlfight!!

Real Housewives of Orange County: Let's All Be Creative

This weeks theme on the Real Housewives of Orange County was creativity. Lauri leaves the insurance business because she needs to get her jewelry making "creativity out"! Vicki designs her own insurance web site! Jo records a very bad song! Tammy goes to Catalina! Jeanna attends soft porn cooking class!

Lauri decided to go into business with her friend Lorelei, who has "boobage" and apparently a great eye for semi precious jewels, which she puts together in necklaces. Lauri and Lorelei don't want George to bankroll them, they want to get investors on their own - you go independent women. Lauri can afford to do this now because Very Rich George is going to pay for everything. Then George gives Lauri a brand new Mercedes convertible because he likes to make her happy. Lauri is happy and tells everyone repeatedly. It is nauseating.

Jo gets the opportunity to play her totally dumb song for these two music moguls who I have never heard of. They like her, she gets to record her song. She can't sing. All the music people blow smoke up her butt and tell her she can sing. Slade watches the whole thing and announces that he is there to make sure that Jo is portrayed in a positive light. He has not been doing a very good job on this up until now.

Vicki gets a web site - loses Lauri, keeps Duff, who is an unbearable gossip for a guy, and becomes even more frantic as she tries to do it all herself, as Duff is clearly unable to cope because he can't stop talking and insists on bringing his bratty kid to work.

Tammy locked Lindsay out of the house so she wouldn't have a party while Tammy was away. Lindsay climbs in the house through the dog door and has a party anyway. Lindsay must have done a good job cleaning up because Tammy got home and didn't even realise there had been a party. She's probably got a huge shock when she watched the show.

Jeanna did nothing except go to a smutty cooking class . She didn't even have to break up any fights with her kids.

Real Housewives of Orange County - Episode Wrap Ups

We are having a snow/ice day here on the east coast, so after attempting to shovel ice off my driveway, I decided to catch up on the lovely ladies of Orange County. It was totally underwhelming. Nothing happened!! Here it is in a nutshell:

Shane invited Miss South Ontario, (Miss Canada Galaxy pageant)to visit him. He met her through My Space. Stupidly she agreed to come, but couldn't eat anything because she had her tonsils out A WEEK AGO. I'm going to start using that line. I'm sorry, I'm not eating because I had my tonsils out (when I was 5) so I can only drink red wine and margaritas. Then Shane acted like a total pig around her, while telling the cameras that he was the perfect host and Miss South Ontario was having a great time. She looked stunned and couldn't believe what she got herself into. Shane didn't even take her to Disneyland!!

Vicki was insanely working and getting Briana ready to go back to school and telling everyone what to do.

Lauri and George took the whole family, minus Josh who is in the special school for angry boys, to Hawaii and then proceeded to sit on the beach in Maui and call Josh and rub it in. Then George took the whole family on a yacht trip in a hurricane. Lauri is not pregnant as far as we know. I don't think she is because George took her horse riding.

Jo continued to string Slade along. Jo got a job in Beverly Hills, doing whatever it is she does, and then went out a lot partying with her girlfriends and Shane also went on the girls night out. Shane is gay and needs to admit it. He would be so much happier and a nicer person and stop being a total dick to his brother, Colton, who is the most decent person in the whole show. Slade insisted on trying to buy Jo's love and that didn't work out.

Tammy took her four year old boy to a Pit Bull show and then said "I'm worried about having a four year old boy around these dogs". She's a complete moron. Tammy's oldest daughter Megan got a nose job. It was brutal. Now we know what all these people have gone through . The younger daughter, who I think is called Lindsay, got her drivers licence and then less than 24 hours later had a car accident. The next day, Daddy took her out and bought her a BMW. Long live stupidity!!

And then my Tivo cut out, which it does every single week on Real Housewives. Bravo can't seem to start it on time, which is really, really irritating.

Having said all that Housewives continues to be one of the most compelling reality shows on TV. I love it!

TV Round Up

Last week we previewed The Real Housewives of Orange County and let me say, it didn't disappoint. The shallowness, botox, expensive cars and cleavage were back in all their glory. If it is possible I think that Jo and Jeanna have even become shallower than they were last season. Jo and her friend, who looked exactly like Jo, both were "approved" to go the party at the Playboy Mansion. Apparently this is a big deal and they dressed up in underwear with their butts hanging out and took off in broad daylight, wearing only see through negligee's over their underwear, to attending the party, and then a good naked time was had by all, which of course we didn't get to see. Meanwhile, Vicki made her son work in construction to teach him a few life lessons, while her mother made snide comments about Vicki's eyelash extensions and botox. Jeana was emotionally absent when their dog died and poor Colton, the only leveled headed person in the show (he's 14) was left to take care of the dead dog. The whole thing was shallowly entertaining and a real eye-opener into the lifestyle of the non-celebrity wealthy people who live in California.

Dirt is another great show, airing Tuesdays at 10:00pm on FX. Courteney Cox is fantastic as Lucy Spiller the cut throat editor of a tabloid called Dirt. The first episode relied a lot on shock value, but the second and third episodes have had more plot and story. The world of tabloid journalism is a cut throat, dirty business, and Dirt gives us a glimpse into to that world, while maintaining a bit of heart - not much but just enough to let you know that people are not all bad. We highly recommend it!

Jewel of Reality

Tonight Bravo's reality series Real Housewives of Orange County 2 premieres its second season. This is reality TV at its best. The "Real Housewives", Vicki, Jeana, Jo, Lauri and newcomer Tammy , all face the camera without a hint of self-consciousness, happily parading their lifestyles of excess as if everyone in America lives that way. All the housewives are the main breadwinners and all work really hard to make the money in their families, you definitely can't take that away from them. The husbands and ex-husbands are portrayed as the weak links in the relationships as far as money making and child rearing go. The exception to this rule is Slade , Jo's on again off again boyfriend/fiance. He makes the money and Jo spends it.

The Housewives all have great cars, expensive clothes (although their clothing choices leave a lot to be desired) big, big houses in a gated community and botox on demand. They work hard and party hard, and lead a fascinating life. One of the best aspects of this show is that regular problems with teenagers and day to day living are not ignored, enabling the viewer to relate to the Housewives on some levels. For a reality TV show, this one delivers an entertaining hour of almost total escapism. Real Housewives of Orange County airs tonight on Bravo at 10pm.
