Dirt - It's back!

FX announced today that the Courteney Cox drama "Dirt" has been renewed for a 13 episode second season. Mia and I are really excited about this as "Dirt" is one of our favourite shows (The Riches - not so much!)
"We're very proud to have managed, in the toughest possible competitive environment, to launch 'Dirt' and 'The Riches' -- two highly original series
that have resonated with our audience as strongly as 'The Shield' and 'Rescue Me,'" FX president John Landgraf says.
Dirt will return to FX early in the fall.

Is Dirt Safe?

Courteney Cox's BFF Jennifer Aniston gave the season finale of Dirt a big boost 2 weeks ago. The episode brought in 2.4 million viewers, up 600,000 from the previous week. I'm sure that was mostly due to the over-hyped kiss they had. Is it going to be enough? FX hasn't said a word about whether or not the show is safe but Kate and I have our fingers crossed!

Courteney Looks Great... Even With Dirt All Over Her

"Dirt" is one of our favorite TV shows at the moment, and we love Courteney Cox. In this months LA Confidential Courteney talks about "Dirt" and her own relationship with the paparazzi.

LAC: What’s your take on the love-hate relationship between celebrities and
paparazzi?
CC: There are times when paparazzi go too far. There was a party at my house for Jennifer [Aniston] the other night. I don’t know who leaked it, but all day long, there were paparazzi—and I’m talking a ton. Sometimes they get to competitive it’s dangerous, like “Who’s gonna get the shot?” It’s OK as long it stays within limits. It’s OK to go to a restaurant and get your picture taken—you’re going out and you have to expect something. But when it gets invasive and they’re sitting outside your house, it’s gone too far. I’m kind of torn because I understand. Look, I don’t read those magazines... but don’t think I don’t look at the pictures to see what people are wearing. I “get” the fascination, but if I’m followed every time I leave my house? That’s too much.(source)

I wonder if that's real dirt in the photo's or special effects dirt?

Courteney Cox Won't Dish the DIRT On Her Friends

Courteney Cox is playing editor in real life, just like the character she plays on DIRT.

"There are many times that I'll call up the writers and say, 'Guys, I really
know that person.' Not that it's the person, but it sounds too much like someone
that they could possibly take it the wrong way."

Cox's character on DIRT, Lucy Spiller, will stop at nothing to get the story for her tabloid magazine, she even has her brother followed to find out who he is having a relationship with. Cox appears to be too worried about what her friends will think, and not worried enough about her new show. I watch DIRT and I really like it, but Courteney should throw caution to the wind and give us some great storylines that we know are probably true in real life, especially since each episode has been a little bit weaker than the previous one. Courteney, stop worrying and really give us something to dish about!

Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston to Kiss?

We already know that Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are going to appear together on the March 27 season finale of "Dirt". Michael Ausiello of TV Guide is reporting that Aniston's character, rival tabloid editor to Cox's Lucy Spiller,is a lesbian and that Cox and Aniston are to engage in a "liplock". Ratings will be through the roof for FX that night if this is true. I'm dying to see Jennifer Aniston break out of her "nice" image and play a bitchy, driven, lesbian tabloid editor. Courteney Cox has already proved herself in her role as Lucy Spiller, so let the sparks fly!!

UPDATE: PEOPLE have just confirmed that the kiss will take place!

TV Round Up

Last week we previewed The Real Housewives of Orange County and let me say, it didn't disappoint. The shallowness, botox, expensive cars and cleavage were back in all their glory. If it is possible I think that Jo and Jeanna have even become shallower than they were last season. Jo and her friend, who looked exactly like Jo, both were "approved" to go the party at the Playboy Mansion. Apparently this is a big deal and they dressed up in underwear with their butts hanging out and took off in broad daylight, wearing only see through negligee's over their underwear, to attending the party, and then a good naked time was had by all, which of course we didn't get to see. Meanwhile, Vicki made her son work in construction to teach him a few life lessons, while her mother made snide comments about Vicki's eyelash extensions and botox. Jeana was emotionally absent when their dog died and poor Colton, the only leveled headed person in the show (he's 14) was left to take care of the dead dog. The whole thing was shallowly entertaining and a real eye-opener into the lifestyle of the non-celebrity wealthy people who live in California.

Dirt is another great show, airing Tuesdays at 10:00pm on FX. Courteney Cox is fantastic as Lucy Spiller the cut throat editor of a tabloid called Dirt. The first episode relied a lot on shock value, but the second and third episodes have had more plot and story. The world of tabloid journalism is a cut throat, dirty business, and Dirt gives us a glimpse into to that world, while maintaining a bit of heart - not much but just enough to let you know that people are not all bad. We highly recommend it!
