Anna Nicole Updates: No New Fathers Today

Rita Cosby just reported from the Bahamas (which looks stunning by the way) that a Florida Judge has said that Anna Nicoles body will not be going anywhere at the moment and it will be held in the Medical Examiners Office in Broward County, FL. Howard K Stern and Anna Nicole's mother Vergie Arthur, were both in court this morning asking for the body to be released to them, separately of course. Howard K Stern wants to take the body back to the Bahamas, and Vergie Arthur wants to bury her daughter next to Daniel Smith, Anna Nicole's son who died in September, 2006.

Rita Cosby also tracked down and interviewed the other person that was in the hotel room when Anna Nicole died. It was Anna Nicole's friend Brigette Neven, from the Bahamas. Brigette said that she thought Anna Nicole had taken a very long nap, went in to check on her and she was just lying there, lifeless. Neven also went on to say that there was no vomit or any other kind of disturbance in the room.

TMZ is reporting that there is evidence from a former Nanny that Anna was deliberately underfeeding Dannielynn because she wanted her to "be sexy". Mia and I have a hard time believing any of this. We think it's a ludicrous ploy by a former employee to cash in on their 15 minutes of fame.

Vergie Arthur and Howard K Stern have also been fighting over custody of Dannielynn, and a judge has ordered that Dannielynn is not to be taken from the Bahamas until a February 22 hearing.

So, a hearing tomorrow in Florida over the body, hearing in LA on 20 February concerning the paternity of Dannielynn and DNA testing, and a hearing in the Bahamas on February 22 over the custody of Dannielynn.

This could only get messier if someone else comes forward and claims they are the biological father of Dannielynn.

I do not believe that the former nanny/maid, Quethlie Alexis, was seeking "fame" when she wrote and signed her statement on the 4th of December, last year. Remember, this affidavit was executed fully two months before Smith's untimely death and the media circus surrounding it.

At the time, Alexis had nothing to gain by signing the statement. She seemed concerned by three things - her firing by Anna Nicole, problems she had getting immigration status in the Bahamas and, most importantly, the welfare of the infant.

Her allegations were more relevant then, as infant Dannielynn was in the care of Anna Nicole and Alexis was concerned that she was doing harm by demanding that the baby be underfed. The former nannie also alleges disinterest of not neglect on Smith's part, charging that an affair with the immigration minister took up all the time she might have spent with her child. And then, of course, came the matter of the drugs Alexis says that Anna Nicole took during her pregnancy.

The usefullness of such a statement made over two months ago is entirely different than is its relevance to the story now. Ms. Alexis couldn't have been seeking to cash in on her "fifteen minutes" then, but rather seems interested in only two things: (1) making clear her belief that Anna Nicole was an unfit mother and (2) putting it on the record that Anna Nicole, not Alexis, was responsible for the under-feeding of the infant.

At the time it was signed, no one could foresee that it would be used for anything more than a custody battle, should one ensue.
