Britney Leaves Promises

Britney left Promises yesterday, her manager reports in a statement released by Jive Records,

"Britney has been released by the Promises Malibu reatment Center after successfully completing their program."

Successfully completing? I believe a 'normal' stint in Promises is 45 days. Britney checked in on February 20th for one day, left, shaved her head, and only returned when ex-husband Kevin Federline threatened to keep her boys in a custody battle. I'm not sure how successful I would consider this. I really hope she is back on track and stays out of the public eye for a while. She needs to re-group. It sounds like things are looking up on the home front though. TMZ is reporting that Spears and K-Fed have been getting along well while she has been in Promises and have agreed to a 50/50 custody agreement for the boys as they finalize their divorce. Britney Love Update

Because we know you are all sitting on the edge of your seat dying to know what the latest news is regarding Britney and her new man Jason, we are here for you. TMZ got an exclusive interview with Filyaw regarding his relationship with Brit in which he says they are "growing very close". He didn't confirm or deny that he was dating Britney (which to me means he is!) but he did give the following dish:

"I love her, I support her 100% and we are close." Filyaw, who's been attending AA meetings with Spears, also revealed that he is helping Britney with the spiritually "deep" part of her recovery. He goes on to say that they met before Promises.

Britney Leaves Rehab

......but not the way you think! She left Promises last night for an AA meeting in Santa Monica. TMZ exclusively reports that Britney was escorted to the meeting by her assistant and returned to Promises right after the meeting. She sure looks happy. Hopefully thing are going well for Britney in rehab.

Britney Gets Visitors in Rehab

She made it through the weekend - Britney Spears is still in Promises. She had some visitors that may have helped her realize why she is there and why she needs to stay. On Friday, Kevin Federline visited her for about an hour, leaving their two sons in the care of Britney's mother, Lynn Spears. Then on Saturday, Lynn Spears brought the boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to see Britney. According to US Magazine, they visited for about two hours. They then left separately, the boys being brought back to K-Fed's home.

Britney's ex-husband of 55 hours, Jason Alexander, also came forward this weekend with some disturbing allegations about Britney's drug use. He told the British newspaper the Sunday Mirror,

"I have never said anything about Britney and drugs before but I am very, very concerned about her. She needs help. I don't want to see her life come to an end. I am really worried that she will wind up like Anna Nicole Smith and be found dead."

He went on to give details of their drug use in the days leading up to their quickie marriage saying "I think we took too much." He describes an incident where, he claims, Britney almost overdosed on ecstasy.

"Then it hit her and it hit her hard. In that situation, your body temperature heats up and you can die. She was sweating and overheating and her breathing was getting real slow. Other people were panicking. But we got her out the back and up to the suite. I took her into the bathroom and threw her into the shower. She was unconscious. She tripped and fell. I was trying to hold her up and speak to her. She wasn't moving.”

I really don't want to kick her when she's down, but I couldn't help putting up this photo. I think it shows just how desperate, angry and screwed up Britney Spears is at the moment. Right now, I'm hoping that she gets the help she needs at Promises and can return to be America's Sweetheart.

Britney Doesn't Deserve Privacy

Danny Bonaduce, child star of The Partridge Family, has come out and said he would do anything to help Britney Spears.

Spears checked back into rehab yesterday, the third time in a week. Bonaduce has well documented struggles with drugs and alcohol, and says that Britney has the same room that he had at Promises in Malibu.

As a recovering alcoholic, Bonaduce, 47, said he'd do anything to help Spears. "I'll come pick her up and take her where she needs to go. She can come stay at my house." But he scoffed at the wistful notion that we should just all leave her alone.

"She doesn't have a right to privacy," he said. "She sold it" to anyone who ever bought an album. "I thought all I wanted was privacy until I got some. Overrated!"

I agree Danny! Once you put yourself out there to the extent that Spears has, she can't expect much privacy. People do want to know what is going to happen to her, partly because we care, and partly because we like to see a fall from grace. And you can't deny it - we are all worried about her babies!!

Kevin Federline is really stepping up to take care of his sons while troubled Britney gets much needed help. US Magazine is reporting that Federline, his mother and Spears' mother, Lynn Spears (pictured), are joining together for Sean Preston, 17 months and Jayden James, 5 months. This is such a sad story.

"He is beyond sad," says a Federline friend. "This is the worst week of his entire life. He doesn't even want to pick up the phone. Things are beyond not well with Britney, and he still loves her."

Britney's family seems to be coming around to K-Fed as well,

"Britney's family feels that Kevin has been a blessing and they are very impressed with Kevin taking so much responsibility."

He is the father after all and I guess it took this mess for people to see that he really does care about those babies. So what do you think? Will Britney and Kevin get back together if she stays in rehab and gets herself cleaned up?

Britney: Third Time Lucky

Word on the street is that Britney Spears has re-checked herself back into Promises at Malibu for a (hopefully) 30 day stay. Britney was seen outside Kevin Federline's house last night attacking a car with an umbrella. Federline reportedly wouldn't let her in to see her kids, and Britney's Mom eventually turned up and drove her back to Promises.

Britney.......Again

Seriously girlfriend! What are you doing?? I can't take much more of this. Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Bald-Brit has left Promises treatment center in Malibu this morning. Less than 24 hours after checking in. 24 hours!!! I'm sure this will continue to develop throughout the day. I need a drink to process all this.....does that make me insensitive to her issues?

People has a great breakdown (no pun intended) of the cast of characters here. Also, they are quoting a friend of K-Fed's who says he has no intention of using Britney's problems against her with respect to the boys,

"It's not about getting the kids away from Britney. He's just worried about making sure he can see them. Kevin wanted her to get help so she could be a good mother for their kids and not end up dead. He just couldn't take it anymore. He was desperate for her to get help."

Great. Now I'm starting to think Kevin Federline makes sense. I guess I should to exchange my 'Team Britney' shirt for a 'Team K-Fed' one.

UPDATE: In the March 5 issue of In Touch Weekly, 'friends' of Britney Spears are coming forward claiming that she has had a drug problem for several years. Among them, Amanda Alexander, sister of Britney's ex-husband (of 55 hours) Jason Alexander,

"When I was around her, she took Ecstasy." She also claims Spears used cocaine.

In Touch is also reporting that toward the end of her marriage to Kevin Federline, she got back into her drug using ways. The night of K-Fed's CD release party was bad for them because,

"Kevin was mad because he knew she was high on coke."

This is interesting if true. Everyone was very anti-Kevin assuming he was the problem and that he was a horrible man for Britney. It just may be the opposite is true.

Breaking Britney News!

TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears is back in rehab!! Their sources are telling them that she has checked into an in-patient center in L.A. today. Britney's mother has been seen in L.A. and I would imagine she has something to do with this. Lets hope she stays there for longer than 24 hours this time. Good luck Britney!

UPDATE: Spears' rep has released the following statement:

"Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today. We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time."

Britney Spears Enters Rehab!

According to Extra T.V., Britney Spears has entered a rehab facility.
Was it Justin Timberlake's comments at the Brit Awards? In an acceptance speech, Timberlake said,

"Everyone have a great night. Stop drinking! You know who you are. I'm speaking to you. you are going to get sloppy. OK! Magazine is going to say something bad about you."

However, TMZ is reporting that she refused to stay in the facility, which is located out of the country, and checked out 24-hours later. Apparently, she originally checked in at the urging of family and friends.
