Former Prison Break star, Lane Garrison, was in court today for an arraignment hearing. The hearing was postponed until May 21, however, when his lawyer asked for time to negotiate a plea agreement. Garrison was charged with vehicular manslaughter when the car he was driving crashed and killed the passenger. Garrison's blood alcohol was more than twice the legal limit. After the hearing today, Harlan Braun, his attorney said that Garrison would plead guilty.
"There is no sentencing bargaining going on. Lane is very sad about the accident."Braun also said that he is waiting on reports from engineers who are trying to determine whether faulty brakes were partially to blame for the crash. If convicted, he faces a maximum of six years in prison. My question: if the brakes are in fact found to have been faulty, does he get less time? He still chose to get drunk and drive so in my opinion, an issue with his breaks should in no way save his neck.
