Chinese Idol Sounds Boring
In China, the competition we know as American Idol, is called "Happy Boys Voice" - and there will be no vulgarity!!
"No weirdness, no vulgarity, no low taste," the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television said Friday in a notice to the producers of "Happy Boys Voice," according to the official Xinhua News Agency.
The show is due to start on May 1 and is a sequel to "Super Girls Voices", which was wildly popular in China and had more then 400 million viewers. That makes our 30 million viewers an episode for Idol pale in comparison!
The show is not allowed to broadcast screaming fans, tears of contestants, and no humiliation of contestants. What? Fox needs to send some reality TV missionaries to China to show them how to do it! What's the point if it's all happy, happy, happy? Sounds boring as batshit to me!
