Prince: Half Time Show Fit For A King

Mia had a Superbowl party last night and it was great. While I'm not one for football, I loved Prince's half time show. He got the party started with "Let's Go Crazy", then started into a medley including "All Along The Watchtower", and with the rain pelting down on him, caught his "Prince symbol" purple guitar and played "Purple Rain". And there were even doves. Doves on sticks, but still doves. I would have been thrilled to have heard "When Doves Cry" the most inspired Prince song ever. But it wasn't to be. Prince was fantastic, and it was the best half-time Superbowl show since the wardrobe malfunction of 2004.

I can't say the same for Billy Joel, who was pretty rough singing the National Anthem. He sounded very hesitant, and was off key a couple of times. Not a thrilling way to start the Superbowl, but it was soon forgotten once the play started.
