The American Idol Steamroller has arrived.

This week saw the debut of season 6 of the phenomenon that is American Idol. 37 million people plus watched the talent and the train wrecks of auditions in Minneapolis and Seattle. I for one, was very glad to see Simon Cowell back on my television. I find his acid tongue so entertaining, and let's face it, he's really doing everyone a favour by shattering their dreams of a singing career so they can get on with their lives!

The Post Chronicle is reporting that things were a little tense between Jewel and Paula.

If the two women spoke to each other it was brief. An icy wall seemed to separate them. Reports are that the two didn't get along and even exchanged some words. At one point were told, Abdul even removed her mike and slammed it down because she was upset with Jewel. It never made it to the taped version shown last night.

Quite frankly, I didn't even notice. Paula just sat there looking like a stunned mullet and every now and again she would turn around and hit Cowell in the arm or swivel her chair around and giggle. Jewel just looked bemused and confused. Randy was the most vocal in Tuesdays show, giving lots of "feedback" to the contestants. Randy's has also manged to score himself a bigger vocabulary over the break.

And it was revealed yesterday on TMZ, that Thomas Daniels, who managed to nab a Golden Ticket to Hollywood, already has a criminal record!!!! It's so early in the season for criminal records. Paula will be so disappointed. She loved him.
