Dannielynn Paternity Battle Rages

Last night on Larry King Live, attorneys for Larry Birkhead and Howard K Stern, forcefully told Larry King the same old thing that they've been saying for weeks. Nothing much new came to light, but it was interesting to see how dogged Stern's attorney's are that the Bahamian birth certificate means everything. Here's a few excerpts:

KING: Ron Rale, I'll make a statement. Is it true? No one knows who the father is. No one can really know who the father is until DNAs are taken...

RALE: I think that's a fair statement.

KING: You can say you're the father.

RALE: I think that's a fair statement.

Then Debra Opri, Larry Birkhead's attorney got her say:

OPRI: I want them to do a DNA test. I want that baby produced. I took Howard K. Stern into the Los Angeles jurisdiction and our judge said, under a new case, that man is coming in, because he's held himself out as the father. Neavitt sits here and has the audacity to tell you he's the presumed father under Bahamian law? Bahamian law needs a piece of paper. It doesn't need anything else. I filed in the California jurisdiction so Larry would have standing to go there. That birth certificate isn't worth the paper it's written on.

KING: The same statement for you I gave to them. No one knows who the father is, correct?

OPRI: Larry Birkhead is the father.

So, there you have it. Nothing has been resolved, and nothing is going to be resolved until Stern produces Dannielynn for a DNA test. Sigh.

Dr Perper even showed up at one stage, and no, I have no idea what that lump on his head is.

Anna Nicole's Will Has Been Released

Anna Nicole's 2001 Last Will and Testament has been released. 20 pages of intriguing information, inexplicably making no provision for any future children!!!! TMZ has acquired a copy of it here.

Howard K Stern is the first executor listed and Ron Rale second, along with a third and fourth executor. Rumor has it today that Stern is thinking of stepping down as executor, which will make Ron Rale the primary executor of her will.

Vergie Arthur has come out and said that the will was never filed in California and therefore is not worth the paper it's written on.

This will was written and signed in 2001 and made absolutely no provision for any other children than Daniel Smith, who died last year in September. It clearly states that she intentionally omitted to provide for any future children or spouses.

It is very, very strange. To specifically disinherit any future children is just plain weird. What's going on here? Is the hand of Howard K Stern at work ? Does this mean that Dannielynn is not provided for at all? Or will she still get money becuase she's the next of kin to Daniel? Is the will invalidated because Daniel is dead? The questions go on and on and on.

I didn't think it was possible yesterday for this to get any messier, but obviously we will continued to be shocked on a daily basis!

Judge Playing to Media?

Judge Larry Seidlin is currently hearing from attorneys for all parties, eg, Larry Birkhead, Howard K Stern and Vergie Arthur involved in the case of Anna Nicole Smith's body. This circus like hearing has now been going on in Broward County,FL since 9:30am ET this morning. The whole thing is unbelievable to me. Judge Seidlin has an almost cliched Brooklyn accent, and doesn't seem in the lest bit concerned in moving the proceedings along at all. And he seems overly concerned who Dannielynn's father is before he makes any decisions, even though he has no need to be dealing with that matter, he is just deciding who the body should be released to.

After asking the Medical Examiner, Dr Perper, numerous times about how long the body can remain in the Medical Examiners office and how much DNA has been collected from the body, Judge Seidlin finally ordered that another DNA sample be taken from the body and preserved for use if ordered in all the paternity hearings that are pending.

So basically, the extra DNA has been taken, so what's the hold up? Anna Nicole's body can be released to someone, so they can have a proper funeral for her. I'm starting to feel very, very bad for Anna Nicole and the life that she led. This is all turning into an even bigger mess than it was last week.

Judge Seidlin repeatedly saying that they needed to show respect for the situation and Anna Nicole, but treating the whole proceedings like he's a stand up comedian. Yes Judge, you are hilarious.
Wild gestures from Howard K Stern's attorney Krista Bath, while Larry Birkhead's attorney, Debra Opri was speaking on the phone from CA.
Mr Tunstall, Vergie Arthur's attorney, stating that Howard K Stern was "ENRONing around the law"

Basically, nothing is going to be decided today and tomorrow morning at 9:00am an order will be signed.

I'm just stunned at the very casual manner that the whole proceeding has been taking and I really feel that Judge Seidlin is contributing to the media circus surrounding Anna Nicole's death by his cavalier attitude to the whole thing.
