George Will Be Back!

Good news George O'Malley fans! Entertainment Weekly is reporting that T.R. Knight has agreed to a new contract to stay put on Grey's Anatomy next year!

"According to one insider close to the negotiation, Knight has agreed to a new contract that will boost his per-episode salary to roughly $125,000 and give him
a small piece of the show profits (pay hikes and profit points were also granted to many of Knight's co-stars, including Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, and Sandra Oh)."

But what about trouble maker Isaiah Washington?

"Still up in the air: the fate of Washington, whose character, the arrogant Preston Burke, appeared to flee Seattle in the finale. That said, the same insider hints that Washington will be back as a series regular (though without the boost in pay rewarded to his co-stars)."
In other Grey's news, Patrick Dempsey told MSNBC that he wasn't all that into the depressing season,

"I would love for Derek and Meredith to have a healthy relationship. It got a little too depressing last year."
Ellen Pomeo agrees,

"I don't think you need sadness to have drama."

Wow. They are really speaking their mind about the show. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, kids!

The Sublime and The Ridiculous

The stars came out last night in New York for the Costume Institute Gala. Ellen Pompeo looked sublime in her dress, and thin but healthy.
On the other hand, Kirsten Dunst is ridiculous and has obviously thrown out all her mirrors and decided to become a time traveller.

End of Izzy?

According to People Magazine, Katherine Heigle who plays intern Izzy on Grey's Anatomy has dropped out of contract talks over salary!

"Katie is disappointed and hurt that (producer) Touchstone doesn't value her as much as her other costars, especially Sandra Oh and Isaiah Washington," the source says.

This would really bum me out if Izzy left the show! She is fantastic and, in my opinion, way better an actor than Isaiah Washington. Maybe she'll join Kate Walsh in the Grey's spin off!

UPDATE: Speaking of the spin off, MSNBC is reporting that some of the other cast members are very unhappy about the news of the new show, saying they felt "blindsided".
"The rest of the cast seemed instantly resentful of Walsh. They each thought they'd be the one chosen to get their own show, and now they're giving Kate the cold shoulder."
The source goes on to say that Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meridith Grey,
"seemed particularly peeved because she felt that, as the star, she should have been consulted."
Yikes. Sounds like the egos are in an uproar over at Seattle Grace!

Late Night TV Round UP

Grey's Anatomy - Is Meredith Dead?

I can't believe that they would write Ellen Pompeo out of Grey's Anatomy. This can't be real! Shonda Rhimes, what are you thinking?

I think the last scene with Meredith waking up and seeing Denny and Blown up by a bomb guy from last season is a clue that she will eventually wake up. She just has to.

If she doesn't, it's really quite unthinkable - no more souful looks from McDreamy, no more whiny voiceovers, no more bad hair days, no more wacky conversations in elevators.

Meredith is Christina's person!!!

What will we do if she dies??????

Ellen Pompeo Channeling Uhura?

Can someone please explain to me what is going on here? Why does Ellen Pompeo always have a sci-fi look to her at award shows? Does she have some secret desire to appear on Star Trek or Star Wars? That dress looks like it is about 5 sizes too big. The earrings are enormous and I really think it was an odd accessory choice given the big neck piece. She seems to love the slicked back hair look too. I was impressed with her at the Golden Globes because although the dress was still a bit Treky, she at least softened her hair. This is just so harsh! Maybe Miss P. needs a new stylist - assuming she has one at all.

Ellen Pompeo's Do

While we are on the topic of hair, check out Ellen Pompeo from Grey's Anatomy (pictured with her fiance, Chris Ivery). I'm so happy to see she added some curl to it for the Golden Globes. So much better than the super tight do she was sporting at the Emmy's. Well played Ellen!
